Hello Friend,
I recently went in for a routine physical. I’ve always had high cholesterol, and my test results showed it was still out of range. Unfortunately, I'd taken statins in the past and the side effects bothered me.
Then my doctor said, “I’ll make you a deal. You get a CT Calcium Scoring test and if your score is low, I’ll stop bringing up statins."
I hadn't heard of the test and no no else I knew had either, so I wrote a short video to explain it: Let's talk about CT Calcium Scoring. Of course, if you have high cholesterol or a family history of heart disease, statin therapy can be an excellent course of treatment for lowering your overall risks... so we made a companion infographic: Should I take a statin?
We hope this helps clarify a complex and important topic. If this is you, talk to your doctor. And if you have a friend or loved one who could benefit, please share this video with them. It could save their life.
